First of all, like any piercing, the dermis around a gland gets more touch to support the foreign object, especially in a sensitive area that is constantly rubbing against clothing or being touched. It sometimes doesn’t show for a great length of time, but it’s a proven fact. Secondly, yes it can make the nipple more sensitive for some women, but not all. It depends on the person.
